United MileagePlus Buy Miles: Up to 100% Bonus — Ends June 24

Miles are nonrefundable and the 90-day rolling cap is 50,000 base miles, so plan the purchase before you pull the trigger.
United is doubling purchased miles through June 24 — that's a 100% bonus, their strongest buy-miles rate of the year. It's relevant if you're short on a specific redemption and the price-per-mile math clears. Run the numbers before you buy: purchased miles need a redemption waiting on the other side to be worth it.
The effective cost per mile depends entirely on your bonus tier. At the 100% headline rate, you're paying roughly half the $35-per-1,000 base — the appeal of the sale. At lower tiers the math gets worse fast, so the only buyers this works for are accounts showing a real bonus AND with a specific Star Alliance redemption already lined up. Buying speculatively against United's dynamic pricing on its own metal is a losing game.
Where the value actually lives: Star Alliance partners. ANA Business to Tokyo is the sweet spot most people can actually book at saver rates. Turkish Business to Europe is reliably bookable with reasonable saver availability. Lufthansa First is on the chart too, but Lufthansa releases First-class space to non-status members only at T-14 — so this sale only works for Lufthansa First if your travel is in the next 2–3 weeks. Singapore Suites aren't bookable via MileagePlus at all.
The 90-day rolling cap is what catches people. You can't keep buying once you hit 50,000 total miles in any 90-day window. Plan your purchase against your specific redemption target, not against the maximum.
