Frontier Miles Overhaul: Diamond Gets Easier, Elites and Cardholders Earn More

Frontier rebuilt Frontier Miles as of September 1, 2026, and if you carry status or the Frontier card, most of the changes fall in your favor. Top tier Diamond now takes 75,000 Elite Status Points instead of 100,000, a 25 percent cut that is already in effect. Silver, Gold, and Platinum keep their current 2026 requirements for the 2027 elite year, so nothing got harder.

Earning also climbs with status on bundled economy, premium, and business fares:

• Standard members earn 6x at Member, then 8x Silver, 10x Gold, 12x Platinum, and 16x at Diamond.
• Frontier World Mastercard holders earn more at every tier, from 12x at Member up to 22x at Diamond.

The gains concentrate at the top, so a loyal Frontier flyer or cardholder comes out ahead while a casual traveler booking the cheapest fare sees the least lift.

Looking to 2027, first class and UpFront Plus upgrades will start at Elite Silver rather than Diamond, and the upgrade window widens as you climb: 4 hours before departure at Silver, 8 at Gold, 18 at Platinum, and 24 at Diamond. Frontier is also adding new Milestone Rewards along the way.

If Frontier is your main airline, the math for chasing Diamond just got easier, and the card earns its keep faster than it used to.
