Citi Raises the Annual Fee on Two AAdvantage Cards and Adds New Perks

Two Citi AAdvantage cards get a new annual fee and a longer perk list on January 24, 2027.

The fee on the Citi / AAdvantage Platinum Select World Elite Mastercard and the Citi / AAdvantage Business World Elite Mastercard goes from $99 to $150. It applies to new and current cardmembers alike, and current cardmembers get the new benefits from the same date.

The Platinum Select picks up:

• Earning: 3X on AAdvantage Hotels and Cars bookings, plus 2X on EV charging (added to gas), select streaming, and rides and rails.
• Flight discount: the American Airlines flight discount goes from $125 to $150.
• Credits: up to $120 toward Global Entry or TSA PreCheck every four years, and up to $100 a year in statement credits on inflight purchases.
• Extras: complimentary Walmart+, 50% off a FOX One annual plan, and travel protections.

The Business card gets 3X on AAdvantage Hotels and Cars bookings and 2X in a category you pick yourself, plus a Global Entry or TSA PreCheck credit, up to $100 a year in statement credits on inflight purchases, 25% off Melio and travel protections.

Two things stay put on the Platinum Select: 2X on American Airlines purchases and restaurants, and the free first checked bag.
