The catch

For the credit: prepaid Airbnb Luxe through Amex Travel, with your Amex and Airbnb accounts linked in the same name.

Airbnb just joined Amex Travel, and Platinum holders get two things out of it. Prepaid Airbnb bookings through Amex Travel earn 5X Membership Rewards points on the Consumer and Business Platinum, from October 22, 2026. Other eligible Membership Rewards cards earn 2X on the same bookings.
The second is the Lodging Credit, which Amex has renamed from the Hotel Credit. A prepaid Airbnb Luxe stay of two nights or more now counts toward it: up to $300 per half, $600 a year, per card account. The 5X covers all prepaid Airbnb bookings, but the credit is Luxe only.
To use it:
- Link your Amex online account to an Airbnb account in the same name first.
- Book and pay in advance through AmexTravel.com or the Amex Travel app.
- Stays run up to 27 nights. Delta SkyMiles Platinum is not eligible.
A prepaid Luxe booking also unlocks a $250 Airbnb Experiences Credit once per calendar year: statement credits on eligible Experiences bought directly with Airbnb for the rest of that year. Some Experiences that redirect to a partner are excluded.
The credit can take up to 90 days to post.
