See all tools →If Allegiant is the airline you actually fly, its Visa from Bank of America has a welcome offer, and what the points can buy matters more than the number.
- Bonus: 30,000 points after $1,500 in purchases within the first 90 days
- Annual fee: $59, with no foreign transaction fees
- Earn: 3 points per $1 on Allegiant travel bought from Allegiant, 2 on dining (fast food does not count), 1 on everything else
The points are worth $300 toward eligible Allegiant travel, not cash. Redeem them on allegiant.com for an itinerary that includes at least one flight, and hotels, car rentals and attractions can be part of it. The points do not expire while you hold the card. If the card is closed, they expire 24 months later unless you fly Allegiant in that time.
The $1,500 must post within 90 days. The annual fee does not count toward it, returns come back out, and cash advances and balance transfers do not count. Points arrive about one to two billing cycles after you qualify, and bonus points may be taxable income.
The offer is for a new account opened in response to it, not a way to convert a card you already have. Bank of America also runs other promotions with different terms, so check which one you are applying under.
It suits an Allegiant regular who can meet the spending requirement with normal purchases. If you want points that move to other airlines, these points only work with Allegiant, and the $59 fee is hard to justify.
