Citi AAdvantage Executive Refresh: $695 Fee, New Credits, and Omni Hotel Status
The Citi AAdvantage Executive card (soon the World Legend Mastercard) is being refreshed effective August 23, 2026: the annual fee rises to $695, credits are restructured (up to $500 on AA Vacations, $100 inflight/club, $180 Lyft), and it adds automatic Omni Hotels Champion status.
American and Citi are overhauling the AAdvantage Executive card, renaming it the World Legend Mastercard and raising the fee. The changes take effect August 23, 2026.
- Fee rises to $695, up from $595. New cardmembers pay it right away; existing cardholders at their first renewal after being notified.
- The credits get a makeover: up to $500 back on American Airlines Vacations packages, up to $100 in inflight and Admirals Club credits, up to $180 in Lyft credits, and up to $120 on prepaid Avis or Budget rentals, plus Global Entry or TSA PreCheck. The old Grubhub credit is gone.
- Hotel status added: automatic Omni Hotels Champion status, with a free night each year after a qualifying two-night stay.
- Still your Admirals Club key: full membership stays included, worth up to $1,400 on its own now.
- Earning nudges up: 12x miles on AAdvantage hotels and cars, plus up to 40,000 bonus Loyalty Points a year across four spend milestones.
- Worth it if you use the club and the AA Vacations credit. That $500 only counts on AA Vacations bookings, so do not treat it as flexible travel money.
Effective August 23, 2026.
