Spending Asiana miles on Star Alliance partners? The deadline depends on the airline, and the first one is October 31, 2026. Asiana leaves Star Alliance on December 16, 2026 at 23:59 Korea time. For awards on a partner, ticketing and travel both have to happen on or before:

  • October 31: Copa, Lufthansa, Swiss, Air New Zealand, Austrian, Brussels
  • November 30: Air India, Ethiopian, LOT, EgyptAir, ANA
  • December 16: Air Canada, EVA, Air China, South African, Singapore, Thai, TAP, United, Shenzhen
  • Ticket by December 16, travel by December 16, 2027: Aegean, Avianca, Croatia, Turkish

Book and ticket at least 3 days before your first departure. An unusable ticket is refunded with your miles back.

The combined mileage program starts December 17, 2026. After that, earning and spending miles and using elite benefits is restricted unless you consent to sharing your data with SkyTeam partners and to the international transfer. Members already registered in SKYPASS need no separate consent. If you do not want your data moved to Korean Air, you must tell your regional Asiana office (US included) by December 16, 2026. Refusing cancels your membership, and any remaining miles can be used before the account closes, then expire.
