Hyatt Is Leaving American for Delta. Link Both Accounts by November 15.

November 15 is the one to put in your phone. That is the cutoff to link your World of Hyatt and AAdvantage accounts, and it is the only part of this whole shake-up that asks anything of you.

The two programs are splitting. Hyatt and American have mutually decided not to continue their enhanced relationship, and Hyatt is building a long term loyalty tie with Delta in its place. If you have a foot in both camps, three dates govern the wind down:

• November 15, 2026, 11:59:59 p.m. CT - link the two accounts to keep earning across both during the transition.
• December 31, 2026 - last day World of Hyatt members earn AAdvantage miles through Milestone Rewards.
• February 28, 2027 - last day AAdvantage members earn World of Hyatt points through Loyalty Point Rewards.

Nothing you have already banked is going anywhere. Earning, selecting and redeeming run uninterrupted through the remainder of each program's current earning year, so this is a slow goodbye rather than a switch being thrown.

One thing survives the split, quietly. The 500 AAdvantage miles swap is untouched: give your AAdvantage number at check in and you can still take 500 miles instead of World of Hyatt points on an eligible stay, with no end date on it. If that swap was the whole reason your two accounts ever knew about each other, November 15 is not your problem.

On the Delta side, World of Hyatt elites will earn Hyatt points on qualifying Delta airfare, and Delta Medallions will earn miles on qualifying Hyatt stays. Which tiers, which fare classes, what the rates are, whether you have to opt in, and when any of it starts are all still unpublished. We are not going to invent numbers that have not been printed.
