Scotiabank Offers Up to 80,000 Scene+ Points on Its Platinum Amex and Passport Visa Infinite Privilege in Canada

This is a Canadian offer: Scotiabank is offering up to 80,000 Scene+ points on two of its premium cards, the Platinum American Express and the Passport Visa Infinite Privilege. Every dollar figure below is in Canadian dollars (CAD).

Platinum American Express, accounts opened November 2, 2026 through July 1, 2027, annual fee $399:

• 45,000 points after $5,000 in purchases in the first 6 months
• 25,000 points after $10,000 in purchases in the first 12 months
• 10,000 points for one eligible purchase in the 14th month

Passport Visa Infinite Privilege, accounts opened November 2, 2026 through January 3, 2027, annual fee $599 for the primary card and $199 for an additional card:

• 40,000 points after $3,000 in the first 3 months
• 30,000 points after $20,000 in the first 6 months
• 10,000 points for one eligible purchase in the 14th month

The two offers ask for very different things. The Platinum gives you a full year to reach its second spending step, while the Passport wants $20,000 inside six months for its second tier. The last 10,000 on both cards is its own step too: it does not come with the spending bonuses, it needs one eligible purchase in the 14th month. Bonus points arrive in about 8 weeks.

Who is shut out: anyone who holds, or in the past 2 years held, a Scotiabank personal credit card as primary or secondary cardholder, including people switching from another Scotiabank card, and Scotiabank employees. Scotiabank small-business cardholders are eligible.

The Passport offer ends first, for accounts opened through January 3, 2027. The Platinum runs through July 1, 2027.
