JetBlue and United have switched on the loyalty half of their Blue Sky partnership. As of May 14, 2026, elite members of one program get reciprocal benefits when flying the other:
- Priority check-in and security
- Preferred seat selection (after booking)
- One free checked bag with priority handling
- Same-day standby
Both programs already let members earn and redeem across both airlines: MileagePlus members earn 3 to 9 miles per dollar on JetBlue depending on status (6 to 12 with an eligible United card), and TrueBlue members earn 5 to 10 points per dollar on United depending on Mosaic status.
Three limits to keep in mind:
- Basic Economy earns less: On JetBlue Blue Basic fares, general MileagePlus members without an eligible United card earn nothing, and eligible United cardmembers and Premier members earn lower rates.
- Excluded routes: MileagePlus members do not earn on travel between Newark and Aruba, Cancun, Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Punta Cana, Chicago (ORD) or Houston (IAH).
- No lounge access in the reciprocal perks: The benefits JetBlue and United list for each other's flyers do not include lounges.
