The deal at a glance
The offer
70,000 miles + 100 XP
After $3,000 in purchases in 90 days, from the Apply link on Flying Blue's partner page
The catch
$3,000 in 90 days
$89 annual fee. Bank of America's own page shows 50,000 miles + 100 XP after $2,000 instead
Best for
A Flying Blue Silver start
100 XP is the Silver level; new accounts only, one new-account XP bonus per member in 24 months
Two Air France KLM Visa Signature offers are running at once, and which one you see depends on where you start.
Click the Apply link on Flying Blue's partner page and the live Bank of America application shows 70,000 bonus miles plus 100 Experience Points (XP) after $3,000 in purchases within the first 90 days of opening the account. It is labeled a limited-time online offer, and KLM's US site advertises it too. Start from Bank of America's own product page and the offer reads 50,000 bonus miles plus 100 XP after $2,000 in purchases in the first 90 days. The two do not combine, and the terms say other advertised promotional offers may not be substituted.
- Annual fee: $89, with no foreign transaction fees
- Earn: 3x on Air France, KLM and SkyTeam airlines and on dining, 1.5x on everything else
- Each anniversary: 5,000 bonus miles after $50 in purchases, plus 20 XP
XP is what Flying Blue uses to set your status level, and 100 XP is the Silver level. The new account XP bonus comes once per Flying Blue member in any 24 month period, and the bonus miles offer is once per new account. It is for new accounts only, not conversions of an existing card.
Qualifying purchases leave out fees such as the annual fee, cash advances and balance transfers do not count, and returns are deducted. No end date is posted for either offer, and the miles and XP post one to two billing cycles after you qualify.
