Wyndham’s Four Tier Award Chart Is Now Live, From 5,000 to 45,000 Points

Wyndham replaced its three tier award chart with four tiers on September 15, 2026. Free nights now start at 5,000 points instead of 7,500, but a new 45,000 top tier means some premium hotels cost more. Stays booked before the switch kept their old rate, and a hotel that dropped a tier was refunded the difference automatically.

Wyndham's award chart got a full redraw, and the headline is friendlier than most devaluations: cheap nights got cheaper. The floor for a free night is now 5,000 points, down from 7,500.

The change took effect September 15, 2026.

Here is the shape of it. The old chart ran three tiers at 7,500, 15,000 and 30,000 points per bedroom per night. The new chart runs four: 5,000, 15,000, 30,000 and 45,000. The 5,000 tier is real new value for a roadside Days Inn or La Quinta night that used to cost 7,500. The 45,000 tier is the sting, and Wyndham reshuffled which tier each hotel sits in, so some properties dropped a level and some climbed. A premium resort that used to top out at 30,000 can now land at 45,000, so price the exact hotel and dates before you commit points.

If you already booked, you are fine. Any stay reserved before September 15 was honored at the rate you booked, and where a hotel got cheaper under the new chart, Wyndham refunded the difference on its own.

The move that still works: aim your points at the priciest room in whatever tier a hotel now sits in, since flat pricing means an expensive property and a cheap one cost the same within a tier. Wyndham points also still convert to Caesars Rewards one to one, up to 30,000 Reward Credits a year each way, a way to put a balance toward a Las Vegas or Atlantic City night.

Budget travelers come out ahead, aspirational redeemers lose a little at the top, and anyone sitting on a big balance should price their next stay against the new tiers before assuming it costs what it used to.
