Good to know before you apply
- The welcome offer is 180,000 points after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months, plus 10,000 points after you add an authorized user in that window. It is a launch offer: apply by November 18, 2026. You are not eligible if you currently hold a personal IHG One Rewards credit card or earned a new cardmember bonus on one in the past 24 months. Business cards do not count against that.
- The anniversary free night has a cap of 50,000 points, which covers a solid range of IHG properties but not the flagship luxury options. It is issued on your card account anniversary and valid for 12 months, and you can top it up with your own points to book above the cap, so it is a floor, not a ceiling.
- You get automatic Gold Elite status. Spend $15,000 in a calendar year and the primary cardmember also earns Platinum Elite status through December 31 of the following year, 5 Elite Night Credits and 15,000 bonus points. At $40,000 in a calendar year it is Diamond Elite status. If your natural spending does not live anywhere near those numbers, they are more decorative than functional, and the base card still earns its $150 keep on the anniversary night.
- You also get 15 Elite Night Credits when you open the account and at the start of each calendar year, plus 2 more for every $5,000 you spend.
- The 4th Night Free works on standard room Reward Night stays of four or more consecutive nights at the same hotel. There is no spend requirement and no annual cap on how many stays use it.
- The yearly credits are $100 toward IHG food and beverage (up to $25 each calendar quarter, applied to eligible charges on your room bill), a $100 statement credit for one airline purchase of $250 or more made directly with the airline each calendar year through December 31, 2027, and up to $50 United TravelBank Cash a year ($25 for January to June and $25 for July to December).
- The United TravelBank credit requires registering your card with your MileagePlus account before it does anything. It will not appear automatically, so if you fly United at all, the registration step is the first thing to do after your card arrives.
- DashPass is complimentary for one year and then you are automatically enrolled at the current monthly rate, so activate by December 31, 2027 and note the renewal. Activate on or after September 1, 2026 and you also get up to $10 off a month on groceries, everyday essentials and more on DoorDash through December 31, 2027 while you stay enrolled. Members who activated from February 1, 2025 through August 31, 2026 get the $10 each quarter instead. You also get a $10 Instacart credit each month, up to $120 a year, plus a 3 month Instacart+ membership that renews automatically at $99 a year, and the Instacart benefits end December 31, 2027.
- NO foreign transaction fees, and you save at least 30% when you buy IHG points with the card (purchased points do not count toward elite status).
- The Global Entry, TSA PreCheck or NEXUS credit is up to $120 every 4 years, a small perk that quietly covers the application fee.
The IHG One Rewards Premier stacks automatic Gold Elite status, a 50,000 point anniversary free night, and up to 24X points at IHG hotels for $150 a year. Spend $15,000 in a calendar year and you also earn Platinum Elite status, and at $40,000 it is Diamond Elite status.
