Wyndham Rewards

Wyndham Rewards is the loyalty program for the budget-to-midscale traveler - think Days Inn, La Quinta, Ramada, and a sprawling portfolio of road-trip-friendly brands spanning thousands of properties worldwide. From September 15, 2026 free nights start at just 5,000 points, one of the lowest entry points in hotel loyalty, and the co-brand credit cards can pad your balance fast. It's not the flashiest program, but if you drive America's highways or need a reliable midscale bed, Wyndham punches above its weight.

Award chart

The actual numbers. Get your nerd on, memorize the cheap ones.

The cheat sheet.

See the rates

Wyndham Rewards uses a simple flat-tier pricing model for free night (Go Free) awards - no dynamic pricing and no seasonal surcharges, which makes it one of the easiest hotel programs to plan around.

From September 15, 2026 there are four tiers: 5,000, 15,000, 30,000 or 45,000 points per bedroom per night, available at thousands of Wyndham Rewards properties worldwide. Each property is assigned one tier. Wyndham reassigns properties among the tiers periodically, and it is redistributing them across all four at the switch - some hotels move down, some move up - so price the exact dates before you book.

Booking before September 15, 2026? The old three tiers - 7,500, 15,000 or 30,000 points - still apply until then, and any booking made before the 15th is honored at the rate you booked. If a property gets cheaper under the new chart, Wyndham refunds the points difference automatically. The one thing worth acting on: a premium property sitting at 30,000 today may move to the new 45,000 tier, so lock those in before the switch.

Vacation Club resorts (Club Wyndham, WorldMark by Wyndham, Margaritaville Vacation Club, Shell Vacation Clubs) start at 7,500 points per bedroom per night for stays of two or more nights.

A Points + Cash (Go Fast / Discounted Nights) option is also available starting at 750 points plus cash at participating hotels, with the cash portion shrinking as more points are applied.

Sweet spots

Where your points punch above their weight.

Where this currency genuinely shines.

Show me the picks
  • Aim the top tier at the priciest properties - because Go Free is flat-priced per tier, the strongest value comes from redeeming where cash rates run well past what the tier costs in points (Wyndham Grand, Registry Collection, resorts). From September 15, 2026 the ceiling is 45,000 points rather than 30,000, so the arithmetic to run is the cash rate against the tier the specific hotel now sits in - not against a fixed 30,000.
  • Caesars Rewards stays in Las Vegas / Atlantic City - redeeming Wyndham points at Caesars casino hotels covers nights that can be tough to book cheaply with cash, especially on weekends.
  • Vacation Club resort redemptions - Margaritaville and Club Wyndham resorts at 15,000-30,000 points per bedroom can deliver strong value on two-plus-night getaways.
  • Caesars status match without gambling - Wyndham Platinum and above match to Caesars Rewards status, unlocking casino perks you'd otherwise have to earn at the tables. Note: you must have earned Platinum or Diamond through qualifying nights - status granted by a Wyndham co-brand card does not qualify for the Caesars match.
  • Co-brand card balance padding - the Wyndham Rewards Earner cards (Barclays) build a balance quickly, but only chase the points when you have a redemption in mind - never speculatively.
  • Wells Fargo transfers at 1:2 - Wells Fargo Rewards is the only inbound currency that doubles: 1,000 Wells Fargo points become 2,000 Wyndham points, the best transfer ratio into the program. Move points only against a booking you are ready to make.

Lounge access

Club lounges and breakfast: who gets in.

Who gets in, who doesn't, and the carve-outs.

See the rules

Wyndham Rewards does not operate an executive or club-lounge program. Its brands run from budget and midscale (Days Inn, La Quinta, Ramada, Super 8) to upscale (Wyndham Grand, Registry Collection), but elite recognition comes through accelerated earning, preferred room choice, late checkout and early check-in, suite upgrades (Diamond and above), and the Caesars Rewards status match - not lounge access. There is no tier that unlocks a branded lounge network.

  • Free Nights (Go Free) - redeem 5,000 / 15,000 / 30,000 / 45,000 points per bedroom per night at participating hotels from September 15, 2026 (until then the tiers are 7,500 / 15,000 / 30,000). Pricing is flat per tier, so within a tier an expensive property costs exactly the same as a cheap one - which is where the value is.
  • Discounted Nights (Points + Cash / Go Fast) - from 750 points plus cash; apply more points to shrink the cash portion.
  • Vacation Club & resort stays - redeem at Club Wyndham, WorldMark, Margaritaville Vacation Club, and Shell Vacation Clubs from 7,500 points per bedroom per night (two or more nights).
  • Caesars Rewards destinations - redeem points for stays at 30+ Caesars Entertainment casino hotels in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and beyond.
  • Airline miles & partner travel currency - convert points to participating partner programs (airline miles, rail points). Conversion value is generally weak - keep points for hotel nights unless you have a specific redemption in mind.

Tips & quirks

Resort fees, blackout dates, points expiry, the stuff nobody tells you until you've been burned once.

The fine print, decoded.

Spill the gotchas
  • Award chart restructured September 15, 2026: Wyndham moved from three flat tiers to four. A 5,000-point floor replaced the old 7,500 floor and a new 45,000-point top tier was added, so the tiers are now 5,000 / 15,000 / 30,000 / 45,000. A small number of premium, all-inclusive, and lifestyle properties previously priced at 30,000 moved up to 45,000 (a 50% jump per Wyndham). Bookings made before September 15 were honored at the old rates, and where a property got cheaper under the new chart the points difference was refunded automatically.
  • Points expiry (Four Year Rule): Wyndham Rewards points expire 4 years after the date they are posted to your account - not from the date of the stay.
  • Inactivity cancellation: All accrued points may be cancelled if a member has no Account Activity for approximately, but never less than, 18 consecutive months. "Account Activity" means point earning or redemption/transfer activity that changes the point balance.
  • Account termination: An account may be fully terminated after 60 consecutive months of no Account Activity, forfeiting all remaining points.
  • OTA bookings earn nothing: Stays booked through Expedia, Priceline, Booking.com, Orbitz, Travelocity, Hotwire, and similar third-party sites - regardless of rate paid or whether the brand is displayed - are explicitly excluded from Qualified Stays and earn zero points.
  • Complimentary / Free Night stays do not earn points: Non-revenue-generating nights (including complimentary rooms and Free Night redemptions) are not Qualified Stays and earn no points, even when resort fees or incidental charges are paid.
  • Minimum total rate required: A stay must total at least US $25.00 in nightly room charges (the "Minimum Total Rate," excluding taxes/fees for most brands) to qualify as a Qualified Stay.
  • Vacasa Vacation Rentals no longer redeemable: Effective December 1, 2025, members can no longer redeem points for Free Nights at Vacasa Vacation Rentals.
  • Echo Suites Extended Stay properties do NOT participate in Wyndham Rewards at all - no earning, no redemption.
  • Travelodge outside US/Canada/Mexico: Travelodge properties outside these three countries are not owned, operated by, or affiliated with Wyndham Rewards and do not participate in the program.
  • Property tier reassignments: Wyndham reassigns hotels among its award tiers periodically - among 7,500 / 15,000 / 30,000 before September 15, 2026 and among 5,000 / 15,000 / 30,000 / 45,000 after (most recent broad reshuffle: the September 2026 redistribution) - so a property's redemption cost can change between visits.
  • Program changes without notice: Wyndham reserves the right to modify point values, redemption levels, elite tier benefits, and earning ratios at any time without notice.
  • Program termination: Wyndham can terminate the entire program upon six months' notice, after which all points may be cancelled.
  • Points are not member property: Points have no cash value and cannot be sold, bartered, or transferred except as explicitly authorized.
  • Wyndham-to-Caesars status match now requires EARNED status: Since February 1, 2025, only Wyndham Platinum or Diamond status you earned by paid nights matches into Caesars Rewards. A free status from the Wyndham co-brand card or the paid Wyndham Rewards Insider membership no longer qualifies, and you must re-apply each year on February 1. The reverse direction, matching Caesars Diamond or Seven Stars into Wyndham Diamond, is unaffected.
  • Caesars Rewards two-way point transfers: on top of the Platinum/Diamond status match, you can transfer up to 30,000 points per year in each direction between Wyndham Rewards and Caesars Reward Credits.
  • Wyndham Rewards Insider (paid subscription): a separate paid annual membership that confers automatic Gold status plus member discounts and bonus points - distinct from status earned by nights or a co-brand card.
  • Caesars Rewards transfer, temporarily doubled: Wyndham and Caesars Rewards allow two-way point transfers (1 Wyndham point = 1 Caesars Reward Credit) plus a reciprocal status match. Through Sept 11, 2026 the transfer cap is doubled from 30,000 to 60,000 Reward Credits per year in both directions (prior 2026 transfers count toward the 60K).
  • Caesars Rewards status match (reciprocal): Wyndham Platinum/Diamond members can match to the equivalent Caesars Rewards tier, and Caesars Platinum/Diamond/Seven Stars can match to Wyndham (at wyndhamhotels.com). As of February 1, 2025, Wyndham status earned only from holding the Wyndham credit card no longer qualifies, you must have earned the level through hotel nights; Caesars also will not match status obtained via another program's tier-match promo.

Chain Reactions

One thing quietly unlocking several perks. Here are the chains that touch this program.

🔗 Caesars Rewards status (from casino play or a Caesars match)3 steps

Caesars casino status, matched into free hotel elite status

1Hold Caesars Rewards Diamond or Seven Stars, the tiers you earn from casino play
2Status-match it to Wyndham Rewards Diamond for free, Wyndham's top hotel tier, with a quick request that clears in about three weeks
3Wyndham Diamond then carries complimentary suite upgrades, early check-in and late checkout, preferred room choice, a welcome amenity, and 20 percent more points, across thousands of hotels
🎉A casino status you may already hold becomes top-tier hotel elite status, for free.

Catch: Going the other way, matching Wyndham status into Caesars, changed on February 1, 2025: only Wyndham status you EARNED by nights matches now, so a free status from the co-brand card or the paid Insider membership no longer counts. Re-apply each year on February 1, and confirm the match is live before you count on it.
