Good to know before you apply
- The welcome offer is 190,000 points after you spend $5,000 in the first 3 months, plus 10,000 points after you add an employee card in that window (awarded once). It is a launch offer. How far those points stretch depends on which IHG properties you actually book, so map out your redemption target before you apply and not after the points land.
- The anniversary free night has a cap of 50,000 points, which covers a solid range of IHG properties but not the top tier luxury options. You can top it up with your own points to book above the cap, so it is a floor, not a ceiling, and it is the first perk to weigh against the $200 annual fee.
- The 4th Night Free on award stays works on standard room Reward Night stays of four or more consecutive nights at the same hotel. There is no spend requirement and no annual cap on how many stays use it.
- Spend is where the ladder is. Each calendar year, $25,000 earns 20,000 bonus points and 5 Elite Night Credits, and $60,000 earns an additional free night with a 50,000 point cap. From January 1, 2027, $50,000 of spend earns Diamond Elite status. If your natural business spend does not live anywhere near those numbers, these tiers are more decorative than functional, and the card still earns its keep on the anniversary night.
- You also get automatic Platinum Elite status, 15 Elite Night Credits when you open the account and by February 1 each calendar year, and 2 more for every $5,000 you spend.
- The yearly credits are $100 toward IHG food and beverage (up to $25 each calendar quarter), a $100 statement credit for one airline purchase of $250 or more made directly with the airline each calendar year through December 31, 2027, and up to $100 a year toward Expensify purchases.
- The Global Entry, TSA PreCheck or NEXUS credit is up to $120 every four years, not annually. It is still free money when the cycle comes around, but if you are coming off a card that reimbursed this annually, the cadence here is different and worth knowing before you cancel anything.
- NO foreign transaction fees, and you save at least 30% when you buy IHG points with the card (purchased points do not count toward elite status). The card also includes a year of complimentary DashPass (activate by December 31, 2027) and a $10 Instacart credit each month, up to $120 a year, which ends December 31, 2027.
The IHG One Rewards Business Credit Card, formerly the Premier Business, is the IHG loyalist's workhorse: an anniversary free night with a 50,000 point cap, a 4th night free perk, and automatic Platinum Elite status, all for a $200 annual fee with no foreign transaction fees. Spend $60,000 in a calendar year and you unlock an additional free night, and from January 1, 2027 Diamond Elite status comes at $50,000 of spend. A compelling play for road warriors who bleed IHG.
