Good to know before you apply
- The welcome offer is up to 115,000 points: 75,000 after $4,000 in purchases in the first 3 months, plus 40,000 more after $20,000 in purchases in the first 12 months. The previous offer was 60,000. The second tier takes real spending, so count on the 75,000 unless $20,000 in a year is normal for you.
- You can't get the bonus if you have this card now, or if you received a new cardmember bonus on it in the past 24 months.
- Aeroplan 25K status is automatic for the primary cardmember and lasts as long as the account stays open and not in default. There is no spending requirement to keep it anymore.
- Chasing higher status? Each calendar year the card adds 5,000 Status Qualifying Credits, 10,000 more at $25,000 in purchases and another 10,000 at $50,000. All Aeroplan credit cards together are capped at 25,000 SQC a year. Spending $75,000 in a calendar year earns 35K status for the rest of that year and the next.
- FLY15OFF takes at least 15% off the points for the base fare on eligible flight rewards. The direction has to be flown entirely on Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge or Air Canada Express and booked on aircanada.com, the Air Canada app or the call center, while you're logged into an Aeroplan account linked to the card. Taxes and fees are not discounted.
- Air Canada purchases earn up to 5X: 3X from the card, plus 2X from Air Canada when you travel as a 25K member. Travel earns 3X, gas 2X, everything else 1X. Grocery and dining purchases earn 3X if they post by December 31, 2026, then 2X.
- The free first checked bag covers you and up to eight people on the same reservation, but only when you check in with Air Canada for a flight operated by Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge or Air Canada Express, at the counter before security. Bags checked at the gate don't qualify, and if your first bag is already free through status or your fare, you get nothing extra.
- The $100 in Air Canada statement credits is split in two: up to $50 from January through June and up to $50 from July through December, on purchases made directly with Air Canada.
- Trip delay reimbursement starts after a delay of more than 12 hours or an overnight stay, up to $500 per covered traveler. You also get a Global Entry, TSA PreCheck or NEXUS credit of up to $120 every 4 years, and no foreign transaction fees.
- Points move to your Aeroplan account after each billing cycle and don't expire while the card account is open.
The Chase Air Canada Aeroplan Card is for anyone who flies Air Canada or books Star Alliance awards with Aeroplan points. For $195 a year you get automatic Aeroplan 25K status with no spending requirement, 3X on Air Canada purchases and on travel, up to $100 a year in Air Canada statement credits, and at least 15% off the points on eligible Air Canada flight rewards. Grocery and dining earn 3X through December 31, 2026, then drop to 2X.
