Lufthansa Miles & More redemption structure

Two pricing models apply to award flights:

Carrier imposed surcharges: taxes, fees and airline surcharges are added in cash on top of the miles and shown at booking. Price the exact flight before you commit.

Award chart (correct as of March 3, 2026; round trip)

The chart amounts apply to a round trip. A one way award costs 50% fewer miles.

(Premium Economy is available only on flights operated by Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Discover Airlines, Eurowings, Lufthansa, Lufthansa City and SWISS, and the chart has no Premium Economy price for the North America routes above.)

Mileage Bargains

Monthly limited time offers from selected partner airlines (currently Brussels Airlines, Croatia Airlines, Eurowings, ITA Airways, LOT Polish Airlines and Luxair) with up to 50% off the round trip chart price. They cannot be rebooked, and a cancellation refunds only the taxes and fees, not the miles. Lufthansa, SWISS and Austrian no longer offer them.

Status earning (Points per segment)

(Points, Qualifying Points and HON Circle Points are earned in the same amounts. Points are earned on Lufthansa Group airlines, co-issuing partners and Star Alliance airlines. Qualifying Points are earned only on Lufthansa Group airlines and co-issuing partners. HON Circle Points are earned only on Business and First Class flights on those airlines.)

• Mileage Bargains on partner airlines cut the round trip chart price by up to half on selected routes, published monthly. They run on Brussels Airlines, Croatia Airlines, Eurowings, ITA Airways, LOT Polish Airlines and Luxair. Lufthansa, SWISS and Austrian no longer have them. Bargains cannot be rebooked, and a cancellation refunds only the taxes and fees, not the miles.
• First Class Terminal at FRA: a private security check, dining, a cigar lounge, shower rooms and a bathtub, and a chauffeured limousine or minivan to the aircraft. Access comes with a confirmed same day First Class ticket on Lufthansa, SWISS or Discover Airlines, or with HON Circle status.
• The Star Alliance partner chart still applies to airlines outside the dynamic pricing group, so booking United, ANA, Singapore, Avianca or Turkish through Miles & More uses fixed chart rates rather than dynamic pricing.
• Senator eVouchers for upgrades: two when you qualify and two with every renewal, valid for 24 months. HON Circle members get four.
• Convert credit card miles to status currency: the Barclays Miles & More US card lets you convert 5,000 to 25,000 miles earned on purchases into Points and Qualifying Points once per calendar year (5,000 miles becomes 20 Points and 20 Qualifying Points).

Lufthansa operates an extensive lounge network at FRA, MUC, and major international gateways. The First Class Terminal at FRA is the most exclusive: a separate, standalone terminal for First Class passengers and HON Circle members with a private security check, dining, a cigar lounge, shower rooms and a bathtub, and a chauffeured limousine or minivan to the aircraft.

Access rules:

• Frequent Traveller (Star Alliance Silver): Business Lounges (Austrian, Lufthansa, SWISS, Brussels Airlines and ITA Airways) when you fly Economy on a Star Alliance airline or ITA Airways, or on a SMART fare with Eurowings.
• Senator (Star Alliance Gold): Senator Lounges and Star Alliance Gold Lounges worldwide for you and one guest, in any cabin, with a same day boarding pass on a Lufthansa Group or Star Alliance flight.
• HON Circle: First Class Lounges and the First Class Terminal at FRA whatever cabin you fly, with up to two travel companions.
• Same day First Class ticket on Lufthansa, SWISS or Discover Airlines at FRA: First Class Terminal access.

The Barclays Miles & More World Elite Mastercard provides 2 Lufthansa Business Lounge vouchers per year as a card benefit (no status required).

• Star Alliance partner award flights at fixed chart rates. The chart prices are round trip, and a one way award costs half. Europe to North America is 50,000 Economy, 125,000 Business and 215,000 First round trip. North America to Far East and Central Asia is 75,000 Economy, 170,000 Business and 260,000 First round trip. Dynamic pricing applies only to Lufthansa, Lufthansa City Airlines, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Discover Airlines and Air Dolomiti.
• Lufthansa Group flights on those six airlines are priced dynamically. The miles are shown at booking and vary by route, date, travel class and fare.
• Mileage Bargains are monthly promotional awards with up to 50% off the round trip chart price on select routes with Brussels Airlines, Croatia Airlines, Eurowings, ITA Airways, LOT Polish Airlines and Luxair. They cannot be rebooked, and a cancellation refunds only the taxes and fees.
• Upgrade awards on Lufthansa Group flights move you up one cabin, and Senator and HON Circle eVouchers can also be used.

• How to change or cancel an award: You can cancel or rebook an Award Flight, where permissible, on the Miles & More website or through the Miles & More Service Team. Unless the offer says otherwise, reduced Award Flights, including Fly Smart and mileage bargains, cannot be rebooked, and a cancellation refunds only the fees and taxes paid, not the miles or the partner surcharges. Online refunds for bookings with several passengers are only available for the entire booking. To cancel individual passengers, contact the Miles & More Service Team. If the airline cancels your Award Flight, contact the Miles & More Service Team or the operating airline. As a status benefit, HON Circle Members can rebook onto an earlier flight on the same day free of charge on Austrian Airlines, ITA Airways, Lufthansa and SWISS flights within Europe, if a seat is available in the travel class booked and the route is the same.
• Fees: For Award Flights with Air Dolomiti, Austrian Airlines, Discover Airlines, Lufthansa, Lufthansa City Airlines and SWISS, the rebooking and cancellation policy depends on the fare you selected for each travel direction and is stated in the offer. Depending on the fare, rebooking or cancellation fees may apply, and rebooking options may be limited, for example to a change of date and time. For Award Flights with static mileage amounts, where the miles come from the award chart, rebooking costs EUR 50 (or the foreign currency equivalent) per person per rebooking. Only the date and time can change, and you may be charged additional taxes, fees and Miles & More airline partner surcharges. When you cancel before departure, you can choose between two options, unless the airline partner's own policy says otherwise. Either you get back only the taxes and fees, at no extra cost, with no miles or partner surcharges. Or, if the partner's fare conditions allow, you also get back the miles and partner surcharges, for the fee in those conditions, at least EUR 50 (or the foreign currency equivalent) per person per cancellation, on your express request. If you do not show up and the flight is not cancelled in time, you lose that choice and only the unused taxes and fees are refunded. If you partly use an award, taxes, fees and partner surcharges are only partly refunded in line with the applicable fare conditions, and miles are not refunded.
