Chase has refreshed the IHG One Rewards Premier card, and the welcome offer is now 180,000 bonus points after $3,000 in purchases in the first 3 months. Add an authorized user in those same 3 months and Chase adds 10,000 more.
Three terms moved for new applicants:
- $150 annual fee, up from $99
- Anniversary free night now covers up to 50,000 points, up from 40,000
- Automatic IHG Gold Elite status, where the card used to hand out Platinum Elite
So the 180,000-point bonus arrives with a bigger fee and a lower rung of status. If automatic Platinum Elite was the reason you carried this card, the new terms show Gold Elite instead.
Chase labels this a launch offer, and its page shows no end date. That is not a promise either way, so check the page before you apply.
Eligibility is narrow. Chase's rule is no personal IHG card and no new cardmember bonus in the last 24 months. If either describes you, this offer is not for you.
This alert sticks to the offer, the fee and the status. Read the card's perks and earn rates on Chase's page before you decide.
The card suits someone who already books IHG hotels and will actually use the free night each year. If your IHG stays are rare, a $150 fee is a lot to pay for a free night you may never book.
