Delta or American Elite? United Is Offering a Premier Match, Request by October 15

Hold Delta or American elite status and have United trips coming up? United is offering to match eligible Delta and American elites to the Premier level that lines up with theirs if you request by 11:59 p.m. Central on October 15, 2026. Approval starts a 90 day challenge, and meeting it carries the status through January 31, 2028.

Submit the form with a screenshot of your digital membership card; United quotes 3 business days for an answer. You need a signed in MileagePlus account with a US address. Any earned Delta or American elite status valid this calendar year is eligible to request the match, and United decides each request. Trial or promotional status does not qualify, and there is no match if you already hold the same or higher United status.

Keeping it is the real job: buy and fly eligible United or United Express tickets inside the 90 days. United sets the amount in the offer terms, so check your required amount on the registration page before you request. Base fare plus carrier imposed surcharges count, including the cash part of Money + Miles. Taxes, fees, extras like Economy Plus, paid upgrades and seat fees, codeshare flights operated by other airlines, and tickets for other people do not. Fall short and it expires at day 90, and you cannot rise above the level you matched.

Best if you already know where you are flying. Partner benefits are limited during the challenge, and Star Alliance lounge access may not be available. Only miles and Premier Qualifying Points (PQP) from flown United flights count, and PlusPoints arrive only with Platinum (20) or 1K (100). United's own fine print says Starlink wifi may not be on every flight.

United waives its once every three years status match limit, so you can run this alongside another United match, including the December 21 one. Each is tracked separately and progress does not roll over.
