United's Buy Miles Sale Ends September 30, and Your Bonus Is Targeted

United is selling miles through September 30, and the bonus riding on top is targeted rather than published. It varies by account. One was shown 80%, some members get a discount instead of a bonus, and the only percentage that matters is the one inside your own MileagePlus login.

• Ends September 30, 2026. Minimum 2,000 miles per transaction, at $35.00 USD per 1,000 miles before any bonus, plus taxes and fees.
• 50,000 miles per rolling 90 days, counted from each transaction date, and that ceiling covers Buy, Gift and Miles Multiplier together.
• 200,000 miles per calendar year per account, with the bonus miles counting toward that annual cap as well.
• Non refundable, and miles post within 72 hours.

The part most buyers get wrong: purchased miles earn nothing toward Premier status, no PQP, no PQF, no lifetime miles. They spend like miles and that is all.

Worth knowing before you top up: an eligible United card saves you at least 10% on United flights booked with miles, 15% with Premier status, and the purchase itself codes as a United purchase on a United MileagePlus card.

Buy these miles if you have priced a specific award, found the seat, and are a few thousand short. Buy them on spec and you own a currency United can reprice whenever it likes.
