Hawaiian Airlines is the oldest US carrier in continuous operation (founded 1929), now a subsidiary of Alaska Air Group following the September 2024 acquisition. The HawaiianMiles loyalty program was fully absorbed into Atmos Rewards on October 1, 2025 at a 1:1 conversion. HawaiianMiles account numbers were deactivated; balances now sit in Atmos Rewards.

For current loyalty program details (earning, redemption, transfer partners, elite status), refer to the Atmos Rewards page at /programs/atmos. This Hawaiian Airlines page documents the operating carrier (routes, fleet, baggage, lie-flat A330 product) plus a historical record of HawaiianMiles for readers searching for the former program.

Hawaiian operates from Daniel K. Inouye International (HNL) and serves inter-island Hawaii, US mainland-Hawaii, Japan, South Korea, Australia/NZ, and Pacific Islands. Lie-flat First Class on the A330 wide-body is the carrier's premium product. The Hawaiian Airlines World Elite Mastercard continues for existing cardmembers and now earns Atmos Rewards points.

  • US mainland to Hawaii dynamically priced from ~10,000 Atmos points one-way Economy on Hawaiian metal.

Changes, Cancellations & Delays

What to do when plans move: how to change or cancel an award, the fees, and your rights when a flight is delayed.

When plans change.

Know before you call →
  • How to change or cancel an award: HawaiianMiles became Atmos Rewards on October 1, 2025, and former HawaiianMiles members are now Atmos Rewards members. Hawaiian award tickets follow the Atmos Rewards rules. Most award reservations can be changed or canceled online at alaskaair.com. Other award travel changes go through the reservations call center.
  • Fees: Alaska's fee table lists no change fee and no cancellation fee on Main and First Class tickets issued on or after May 25, 2025, though a fare difference may apply. When you cancel an award, your points go back into your account and any taxes you paid are refunded. The costs to know are on booking: partner awards carry a nonrefundable booking fee of $20 per person, each way, for tickets booked from July 1, 2026. The Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite card waives the partner award booking fee for the primary cardholder, including on reservations for more than one traveler, when the award taxes and fees are paid with that card. Booking an award through an Alaska Airlines call center adds a nonrefundable $30 service charge for tickets booked from July 2, 2026, which Atmos Gold and Platinum members do not pay. There is no charge for booking online.
  • If your flight is delayed or changed: Alaska's contract of carriage (revised August 25, 2026), which also covers Hawaiian Airlines, counts a flight as significantly delayed or changed when it is scheduled to depart or arrive three or more hours earlier or later, uses a different airport, is downgraded, or adds connection points. Then you can accept the new flight, or, if you decide not to fly and do not accept a rebooking or a voucher, take a refund to your original form of payment. The Atmos Rewards terms say travel on award tickets is subject to the tariff, contract of carriage, ticket terms and travel re-accommodation policies of the operating carrier. Alaska's flexible travel page says that when a schedule change moves your flight by more than one hour, you can change online to a flight up to 1 day earlier or later, or cancel online for a refund to your original form of payment. If Alaska cancels the flight, you can change online up to 7 days earlier or later. To qualify for that refund you must have an active reservation on the impacted flight. For travelers flying on Hawaiian Airlines, that page says to call 1-800-367-5320 or use live chat or text.
  • Same-day changes: The Atmos Rewards terms say same-day confirmed changes and standby travel are permitted in accordance with normal rules.
  • How to reach Atmos Rewards: Manage your award at alaskaair.com, or call the reservations call center at 1-800-252-7522. If you cannot travel, notify Alaska before the flight departs, or the ticket value is forfeited.
