Southwest Cuts Rapid Rewards Award Prices by Up to 25%

Published reports say Southwest is cutting Rapid Rewards award prices by up to 25%, on domestic and international flights, one way or round trip, in any fare class. There is no promo code. Where a flight is part of the sale, the lower points price shows up on its own with the regular price struck through. "Up to" is doing real work here, since seats, days and markets are limited, so confirm the price at checkout.

Book by November 9, 2026 for travel from November 6, 2026 through March 10, 2027. Interisland Hawaii is excluded, and these blackout dates apply:

• Within the continental US: November 28 and 29, December 26 to 28, and January 2 and 3.
• Continental US to international, Hawaii, St. Thomas and San Juan: November 20 to 25 and December 17 to January 5.
• The reverse direction, back to the continental US: November 27 to December 1 and December 17 to January 5.

Government fees, from $5.60 per one way flight, are still due on top of the points.

Already holding a points booking that would cost fewer points at the sale price? Both reports say you can cancel it, get the points back and rebook at the sale price.
