Got a five night stay in mind and Silver status or better? Then this is the pairing to know. Hilton gives Silver members and above every fifth night free on an all points standard room stay of five or more consecutive nights at the same hotel. A beach week or a ski trip means paying points for four nights and sleeping five, and on a ten night stay, nights five and ten are both free.
Hilton is running a 120% bonus on points purchases of 5,000 or more. Here are the tiers, in 1,000 point steps:
- 5,000 plus 6,000 bonus for $50
- 6,000 plus 7,200 bonus for $60
- 10,000 plus 12,000 bonus for $100
- 15,000 plus 18,000 bonus for $150
Under 5,000 there is no bonus: $40 buys 4,000 points and nothing extra.
Here is how to use it. Hilton has no award chart and prices move with demand, so price the stay in your account first, see how many points you are short, and buy only that gap. Points & Money can cover a small shortfall, but a Points & Money stay does not get the free night. And keep bought points for Hilton nights: Hilton points move to airline partners at 10 to 1, which is almost never the right move.
The free night has its own rules. It tops out at 20 nights and four free nights per stay, and it is forfeited if you cancel or check out early. It does not apply to paid stays or reward stay packages, and each hotel defines its own standard room. Purchased points are non refundable, post within 48 hours, and are capped at 160,000 per calendar year.
Hilton's public offers page still says up to 100%, so confirm the 120% on your own Buy Points page before you buy.
