Forgot to Add Your Number? Let's See How Long You Have.

Every program keeps its own clock on missing miles and points. Here they all are, side by side.

Last checked: October 15, 2026

All tools

The flight happened. The hotel stay happened. Your number somehow stayed home. You may still be able to ask for the miles or points, but every program keeps its own clock, from about 6 months to a year, and some only help people who were already members when they traveled.

  • The window is how long you have to ask. Programs count from different dates (the flight, the stay, checkout), so read the "counts from" column too.
  • Trips from before you joined. Some programs only credit people who were already members, and some look back a little. We say which.
  • "Not published" means the program doesn't say, and we're not going to guess on its behalf. Check its official page.

Programs change their rules from time to time, usually without a heads up, so we recheck every row every three months and show the date we last looked.

Rules are set by each program and can change without notice. This page is general information as of the date shown on each row. It is not a promise of credit, and we are not affiliated with these programs. Confirm on the program's official page before you rely on anything here.

What if I wasn't a member when I flew or stayed?

It depends on the program. United and Frontier look back for flights, British Airways for its own flights, and Marriott for stays with your hotel bill. American, Hilton and Wyndham set short limits in their terms, Hyatt and IHG say no, and several programs on this list don't publish a rule at all. The simple fix is to join first and put your number on the booking. It takes about a minute and saves you this entire page.

What will I need to ask for credit?

Usually a ticket number or confirmation code, and sometimes a boarding pass or a receipt. Marriott asks for a copy of your hotel bill. Keep everything until the credit shows up, and check each program's request page for its exact list.

Why is a program marked "Not published"?

Because the program's own pages don't give that rule, and we only list what a program itself publishes. Follow the official page link in the row, and hang on to your receipt in case it asks.
