The Best Hyatt Sweet Spots (After the 2026 Chart Refresh)

In May 2026 Hyatt changed its award chart. This is the current map: the chart, the places worth a look, and how to book smart.

What changed: In May 2026 Hyatt expanded its award chart to five price levels: Lowest, Low, Moderate, Upper and Top. Categories still run 1 to 8, and every category has all five levels. Your stay date picks the level, so the dates you choose can change what a night costs.

How many points does a Hyatt night cost now?

Every Hyatt hotel has a category from 1 to 8, and the category picks the row. Your stay date picks the price level, from Lowest to Top, and Hyatt's Points Calendar for each hotel shows the level for each date. Here is the standard room chart, in points per night.

All inclusive resorts use a separate Category A to F chart. Categories and dates move, so confirm the current price for your exact property and stay on hyatt.com before you transfer points.

Where are the low-category steals?

The bottom of the chart is easy to overlook, and it is where the smallest award prices live.

International low category hotels. Check Hyatt Place and Hyatt Regency properties in your destination. Compare the points price and cash rate for your dates.
Event weekends. Planning around a big game, festival or conference? Compare the Hyatt points price with the cash rate for those exact dates on hyatt.com.
Lowest price dates. Flexible on dates? Check the hotel's Points Calendar for days at the Lowest price level. At the Lowest price level, a standard room costs 3,000 points in Category 1, 6,000 in Category 2 or 8,000 in Category 3.

Are Park Hyatt, Andaz, and Alila worth the points?

The top of the chart is Category 8, the priciest row.

Alila Napa Valley and Alila Ventana Big Sur (Category 8). Both resorts are Award Category 8, so a standard room runs 35,000 to 75,000 points a night. Chart prices do not promise the lowest price is available for your dates.
Park Hyatt and Andaz. Look up each hotel's category on hyatt.com first, because the category decides which row of the chart applies.
The honest caveat. A high points price is not automatically a good use of points. Compare it with the cash rate for your dates before you decide.

Are Hyatt all-inclusives and wellness resorts worth it?

Hyatt's all inclusive resorts and its Miraval wellness resorts do not use the standard Category 1 to 8 chart. Each has its own award pricing.

Ziva, Zilara, Secrets, Dreams and others. These resorts use Hyatt's separate Category A to F chart. Check the hotel, dates and number of guests for the points price.
Miraval wellness resorts. Miraval sits outside the standard 1 to 8 chart on its own occupancy based award pricing, and your award night also includes a daily resort credit toward spa treatments and wellness activities.

How do you stretch your Hyatt points further?

Free night from the personal World of Hyatt Credit Card. The personal World of Hyatt Credit Card gives you one free night at any Category 1 to 4 hotel or resort every year after your Cardmember anniversary, for an available standard room. You get an extra Category 1 to 4 night after $15,000 spend in a calendar year. Use it where the cash rate for your dates is highest.
Points plus Cash. Combine points and cash for 50% of the points required for a free night and 50 to 70% off the Standard Rate for the chosen room type. It is subject to availability and property exclusions.
Chase points. Check award availability and your card's transfer ratio before you move points for a specific booking.
Guest of Honor. You do not need Globalist status to earn it. You earn one when you complete 40 qualifying nights or earn 65,000 Base Points in a calendar year. The guest receives all the Globalist benefits at the hotel, on eligible paid stays and on award stays (standard room, suite or Points plus Cash), for up to 7 consecutive nights on any one stay.

How do you get Hyatt points?

Here are two ways to move points into Hyatt:

Chase Ultimate Rewards. The ratio depends on your card, so see the note below. See our Chase and Hyatt pages for details.
Bilt points. Bilt's public partner list currently shows transfers to Hyatt at 1 to 1. Check the transfer screen before moving points.

Check your card: Chase Sapphire Preferred and Ink Business Preferred points transfer to World of Hyatt at 4 to 3, in effect for existing cardholders since October 1, 2026. That means 1,000 points become 750 Hyatt points. For any other card, check the transfer screen for its ratio before you move points.
