British Airways Experiences (Avios)
British Airways runs two very different "experiences" plays for Avios collectors, and it's worth knowing which is which. One is BA Club Live - members-only access to concerts and shows at the new British Airways ARC venue at Olympia in London, with tickets ringfenced just for The British Airways Club. The other is the everyday "Spend Avios on Experiences" rail, where you redeem points (or points-plus-cash) for attractions, tours, spa days and theme-park tickets through the Avios app or ba.com.
What you can redeem for
Two distinct tracks:
BA Club Live (access): Exclusive, ringfenced ticket allocations to concerts and shows at British Airways ARC, a 3,800-capacity venue at Olympia, London that opened in June 2026. Tickets are reserved for Club members and booked through a dedicated member portal. Some tickets include access to the British Airways Wing VIP lounge - a dedicated cocktail bar and, for select shows, a private balcony over the stage.
Spend Avios on Experiences (redeem): Bookable attractions and activities in major cities worldwide - sightseeing tours, walking tours, cooking classes, dinner cruises, arts and culture - plus UK-focused options like attractions, spa days, theme-park entry and Disneyland Paris tickets.
How it works
BA Club Live: Access-only. You don't bid or redeem Avios for the show ticket itself - Club members get a ringfenced allocation and buy through a dedicated portal after logging in to your BA account. Allocations are limited, so it's first-in for popular shows. Bonus: from June 2026 you can also collect 10 Avios per GBP 1 at select bars and restaurants across Olympia when you attend.
Spend Avios on Experiences: Fixed-price redemption with flexibility - book on the Avios app or via the "Book Experiences" link on the Spending Avios page at ba.com, and pay with Avios, cash, or a mix of both. Pricing is set per experience, similar to how hotels and car hire work in the Avios ecosystem.
Who's eligible & how to access
Both tracks require membership in The British Airways Club (the renamed Executive Club). Joining is free and open to anyone. For BA Club Live, log in to your BA account to see what's on and access the member ticket allocation; some British Airways Wing VIP perks are reserved for select (higher) Club tiers. No specific credit card is required, though UK BA American Express cardholders (British Airways Amex and Premium Plus) are a common way to build the Avios balance you'd spend.
Standout examples
British Airways ARC opened on 16 June 2026 with a performance from Self Esteem, followed by a lineup including McFly and Van Morrison - all with Club-member ticket allocations. On the redeem side, recurring categories include UK theme-park tickets, spa days, Disneyland Paris entry, and city tours and cooking classes worldwide. Specific live inventory rotates constantly, so treat these as representative of the categories rather than fixed offers.
Good to know
Find BA Club Live shows by logging in to your BA account; find redeemable experiences via the Avios app or the "Book Experiences" link on ba.com's Spending Avios page. Refundability varies by experience and by show - check the specific terms before booking, as event tickets are often non-refundable. The redeemable experiences catalog is UK and Europe-heavy, and BA Club Live is physically tied to London's Olympia, so this is most useful if you travel to or live in the UK. On value: points-pundits note Avios on third-party experiences typically returns less than flight redemptions, so lean on the points-or-cash flexibility and only spend Avios when the cash price stings or you have surplus points.
Our take
Worth knowing for two reasons: BA Club Live is genuine money-can't-buy access - ringfenced seats at a brand-new London venue you can't get as a non-member - and the Spend Avios on Experiences rail gives you points-or-cash flexibility to knock down the price of a spa day, theme-park ticket or city tour.
