Cardholder access & presalesCardholder accessUS

Amex Experiences is American Express's entertainment-access platform - the place where your card gets you in the (virtual) door before the general public. It is less a points-redemption store and more a presale and reserved-ticket engine across live music, sports, theater, and dining, with a fancier Platinum/Centurion-only tier on top. Think of it as a perk that buys you timing and access, not necessarily a discount.

What access you get

  • Amex Presale Tickets and Reserved Tickets - early access to buy seats for concerts, tours, sporting events, and theater before the general on-sale, plus blocks of seats Amex holds back for cardholders.
  • Music - presales for major tours and festivals (Coachella has been a recurring marquee).
  • Sports - access to events like the US Open Tennis Championships and major-market games.
  • Theater and arts - Broadway and touring productions, preferred seating, and cardmember performances.
  • Dining and culinary - celebrity-chef dinners, tastings, and cooking classes.
  • Premium Events Collection - a Platinum/Centurion-only tier with VIP packages to headline events (think Coachella VIP, Grand Prix de Monaco access).
  • Venue benefits - dedicated entrances, presale access, and (for enrolled US cardholders) 10% back on concessions at venues in the Amex Venue Collection.

How it works

This is mostly access, not a fixed points catalog. You browse americanexpress.com/entertainment by artist, event, or city, hit "find tickets," and log in. Presales run for a set window before the public on-sale; Reserved Tickets are seat blocks Amex holds for cardholders.

  • Payment: tickets must be charged to an eligible American Express card. On some events you may also see an option to pay with Membership Rewards points at checkout - but it is event-dependent, not universal.
  • Pricing: prices and fees are set by the third-party ticket seller, promoter, or venue (often Ticketmaster) - Amex provides the access, not the price.
  • No auctions or bidding here - it is straight presale/reserved purchase, not a bid-to-win model.

Note: the old "Events by Amex" branding was retired around June 10, 2026, but the access lives on at americanexpress.com/entertainment.

Who's eligible & how to access

Open to eligible American Express US Card Members broadly - general cardholders get presale access, preferred seating, cardmember performances, and virtual experiences. The Premium Events Collection (the VIP-package tier) is reserved for The Platinum Card, Business Platinum, and Centurion holders. Concessions cash-back at Venue Collection sites requires enrollment. You access everything by logging in at americanexpress.com/entertainment with an eligible card.

Standout examples

Specific inventory rotates constantly, but recently featured access has included Coachella (with VIP packages via the Premium Events Collection), the US Open Tennis Championships, the Grand Prix de Monaco, major-market sports (Lakers, Clippers, Kings), and Broadway presales. Treat these as illustrative - what is live changes by season and city, so check the entertainment hub for current events.

Good to know

Tickets are sold and fulfilled by third-party sellers (frequently Ticketmaster), so their rules govern - sales are typically final / non-refundable, with purchase limits, blackout dates, and limited supply. Inventory is US-focused and city-specific; presale windows are short, so timing matters. Paying with Membership Rewards points is offered on some events but not all - do not count on it. Find everything by logging in at americanexpress.com/entertainment and searching by artist, event, or city.

Our take

Worth knowing because the real prize is access and timing - getting a presale shot at a sold-out tour or a VIP package you literally cannot buy elsewhere. The points-or-cash flexibility on some events is a nice bonus, but treat this as a card perk, not a points-redemption play.
