A JAL Award Sale Is On, and It Includes North America

JAL is taking 30% off its award prices, and US travelers can use it. Any JAL Mileage Bank member can book a one way economy award on a JAL flight to or from New York, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle or Vancouver for 18,900 miles, down from the usual 27,000. Book by October 31, 2026 and fly by February 28, 2027.

• Open to all JAL Mileage Bank members, worldwide, with no registration or code. The discounted price shows when you book on JAL's site, in the app or by phone
• JAL operated flights only, on standard mileage award seats, so Award Ticket PLUS seats are out
• Boston is out, and so are premium economy and business to North America

Taxes and fuel surcharges are paid on top of the miles, and on JAL they can be significant, so check the full price before you book.

It suits a flexible economy traveler. If business class to North America is the goal, this sale is not your sale.

Europe is in the sale too, for travel from November 1 to February 28. Economy to London or Paris is also 18,900, and Helsinki or Frankfurt is 16,100.

Two transfer bonuses are pointed at JAL this month: Citi ThankYou points through October 24 and Rove Miles through October 31. If you need miles, check those. A discount only helps on a seat that exists, so search JAL award space first, then move points. A transfer is one way and final.
