Order matters on this one: register for the offer first, then book. iPrefer doubles the base points on a qualifying stay only when the reservation is made between October 1 and 31, 2026, and a stay you finish before registering earns nothing extra.
The terms that decide whether a stay counts:
- Register and book October 1 through 31, 2026, as an iPrefer member (joining is free)
- Stay by December 31, 2026, and the stay must be 2 or more nights
- Select hotels and resorts only, and the offer page does not name them, so confirm your hotel is included before you book
- Only base points double, and the terms state no cap
Reservations made before October 1 do not count, even when the stay itself falls inside the window. A December trip you already booked in September is out, and so is a stay you finished before you registered.
If a stay at a participating iPrefer hotel is already on your calendar, register and book before October 31 and take the extra points. If it is not, double base points are a small bonus on a stay you were going to take anyway, not a reason to pick a hotel.
