Amex MR Canada Drops Etihad Guest as Transfer Partner — Deadline June 20
Canadian Amex MR cardholders, the clock is ticking on Etihad Guest. Effective June 20, 2026, Etihad Guest will no longer be a transfer partner in Canada — any points you want there must move before that date. If you've been sitting on a balance earmarked for Etihad, transfer now.
If you've been accumulating Canadian Amex MR points with an Etihad redemption in mind, June 20, 2026 is your hard stop. After that date, the transfer option disappears entirely for Canadian cardholders — no grace period, no workaround.
What qualifies:
- Deadline: transfer must be completed by June 20, 2026
- Eligibility: Canadian Amex Membership Rewards cardholders only
- Action required: initiate and complete the transfer before June 20 — transfers in progress do not count if they post after the cutoff
This is a permanent removal, not a suspension. Once June 20 passes, Etihad Guest is gone from the Canadian partner list. If you have award space confirmed or scoped out on Etihad — and the points to cover it — don't let the deadline sneak up on you. Transferring speculatively to a program you don't have a redemption lined up for is rarely worth it.
