British Airways Visa Signature Jumps to 90,000 Avios, the Biggest We've Tracked on This Card

The British Airways Visa Signature is offering 90,000 Avios, up from its usual 75,000, and this one has a hard deadline of October 28.

The offer

The sweet spot Aer Lingus business class from the US East Coast to Dublin runs 60,000 to 72,500 Avios one-way, and it carries lower fuel surcharges than British Airways' own transatlantic metal. This bonus covers that seat with Avios still in the account.

The catch

• British Airways operated transatlantic business class carries heavy fuel surcharges, which are paid in cash on top of the Avios. Book Aer Lingus, Iberia, American or Cathay metal instead
• The Reward Flight statement credit is up to $600 a year, but it pays $100 per Economy or Premium Economy flight and $200 per Business or First flight, three times a year, and only on a Reward Flight to London. You only reach $600 by booking premium cabins
• The Travel Together Ticket needs $30,000 of purchases in a calendar year
• The 10 percent discount on British Airways flights from the US only works through the booking link in your welcome materials

Bottom line If you fly transatlantic and can put $5,000 on a card in three months, this is the most the card has offered while we have been tracking it, and Avios transfer in from Amex, Chase, Capital One, Bilt and Wells Fargo, so it is easy to top up. If you never fly to Europe, the $95 fee buys you very little.
