Alaska's Seattle-to-Europe Push: London Live, Reykjavík May 28
Seattle now has a Dreamliner to London — and Reykjavík is next, timed for the August 2026 total solar eclipse. Daily nonstop service between Seattle and London Heathrow is live on a 787-9, with seasonal Iceland service starting May 28 on a 737-8 MAX. Atmos Rewards points book both routes, and oneworld partners including AAdvantage, Avios, and JAL Mileage Bank can earn and redeem on Alaska metal.
Seattle just picked up a real transatlantic flex: Alaska now has three Europe routes in a single year. Daily 787-9 Dreamliner service with lie-flat Business Suites is live, bookable on Atmos Rewards directly. But the route is also wide open to oneworld partners: AAdvantage, BA Avios, and JAL Mileage Bank can all redeem on Alaska metal. For Avios users specifically, this is one of the better transatlantic uses — partner-award pricing without the fuel surcharges British Airways imposes on its own metal.
Reykjavík launches May 28 on the 737-8 MAX, and the timing isn't accidental — Iceland sits in the path of totality for the August 2026 total solar eclipse. Saver availability on eclipse-adjacent dates will dry up by July. If Iceland is on your list, check Atmos award space now. The route runs seasonally.
On the ground: Alaska Lounge+ members and international Business guests get Admirals Club access at Heathrow Terminal 3 (where oneworld partner connections live). Alaska's two-level SEA flagship lounge opens late 2027 — until then, Lounge+ is the Seattle pre-departure story. The 787-9 (joined the fleet via the Hawaiian merger) features Filson bedding, Salt & Stone amenity kits, multi-course dining, and Starlink Wi-Fi. Reykjavík's 737-8 MAX has Starlink across all cabins and Filson amenity kits in First Class.
