Avianca LifeMiles Launches Magno Elite Tier for High-Frequency Flyers
Avianca's LifeMiles added a new top tier, Magno (live June 10), above Diamond — but it takes 110,000 qualifying miles a year, all flown on Avianca. Bigger upgrade allotments and a 100% mileage bonus make it the program's best status, though transferred miles don't count, so it's really one for Avianca road warriors.
Fly Avianca a lot? LifeMiles added a new top tier above Diamond, called Magno, live June 10 — and the bar is steep: 110,000 qualifying miles a year, all flown on Avianca (Diamond asks 45,000, with 22,500 flown).
Hit it and the perks are real: 18 international business-class upgrades across the Americas (up from 12), 12 domestic (up from 8), four Insignia upgrades to Europe (up from two), a 100% bonus on base miles versus Diamond's 80%, a dedicated Magno agent, and snacks on every flight.
For most of us, though, file this away rather than chase it: you earn LifeMiles by transferring from Amex, Capital One, Citi, Bilt, or Wells Fargo, and transferred miles don't count toward Magno. It's a tier for Avianca road warriors, full stop.
